Climbing life's mountains together...

An evidence-based counselling service using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, focused on working with you to support your needs, values, and goals.

Hey, I'm Tim, glad you're here...

With almost 30 years of experience as a registered nurse, I have worked alongside adults of all ages through complex health conditions, cardiovascular care, palliative journeys, and the profound experience of loss. These years have shaped the way I practise counselling that is grounded in compassion, collaboration, empathy, and trust.

I work with both men and women across a wide range of concerns. For men, this may include exploring healthy masculinity, embracing fatherhood, or navigating the emotional and practical realities of separation, divorce, and custody. For women, this may involve reconnecting with yourself, untangling complex emotions, developing a healthier relationship with your body and body image, processing past experiences in a safe and supportive space, or managing the pressures of today's demanding world.

I work as a counsellor at Pivot Counselling & Training, offering face-to-face sessions in central Adelaide, while also providing counselling online across Australia.

No matter your story, you don't have to face it alone. Together, we can create space for healing, clarity, hope, and a more fulfilling life.

Client Testimonial

"I didn't realise how much stress I was carrying all the time while going through separation. My body and mind were constantly switched on. Tim really understood what I was dealing with and helped me slow down, let go of some of that stress, and start rebuilding my life."

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely! I see men and women over the age of 18.

You might be experiencing a bunch of thoughts and feelings about your first session, from worry and anxiety to excitement and hope. Whatever you're feeling, it's completely normal, and I'll do my best to help you feel comfortable and at ease. I'll send you an intake form to complete before our appointment so I can gather some basic information about you. However, our first session is all about you - exploring where you're at and what you want to get from our time together.

Great question! Everyone is different, and it really depends on what's happening in your life right now. You might need help with something specific and short-term, or with something that takes longer to work through. On average, 6-8 sessions are typical. I usually recommend starting with weekly or fortnightly sessions, and we'll check in regularly and adjust as needed. Just like your physical health, commitment to your mental well-being is important!

I charge $120 for a one-hour session.

I sure do! I provide online services across Australia via Zoom.

Mental health care plans are for eligible mental health professionals such as psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists. Unfortunately, my qualifications and registration as a counsellor are not covered by Medicare or a MHCP. At this stage, I am unable to provide Private Health Care rebates.

I take your privacy seriously and am committed to complying with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Your right to privacy encompasses confidentiality. Information discussed during our sessions is confidential and will not be shared without your written permission, except when I am legally obliged: a) to report a serious and imminent threat to the life, health, or property of yourself or another, b) to report any abuse or neglect experienced by a young person under 18, and/or c) to release client records when required by court order. Confidential written records are maintained to reflect the issues and goals identified in counselling sessions and are securely stored for seven years. You may request access to your personal information at any time. For more information about my privacy policy, please click here.

I am unavailable after business hours and do not provide a crisis service. If there is an emergency, please contact:

  • Your doctor, or the emergency section of your local hospital
  • Lifeline on 13 11 14, or the Mental Health Triage Service on 13 14 65

It certainly is a small world, and there's always a possibility we might run into each other outside of the counselling setting. If this happens, your confidentiality remains my priority. I'm not being rude, but I won't acknowledge you. Of course, if you say hi, I'll respond!

I hold a Master of Counselling Practice, a Bachelor of Nursing, and a Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Nursing. I am a certified practising counsellor with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and a registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
